Tucked in the heart of Carmichael, Koobs Nature Area is a 4.7-acre hidden gem where families can explore, learn, and connect with the natural world.
Koobs Nature Area – Public Open Days
First Saturday of Each Month | 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Looking for a fun, meaningful way to spend time outdoors with your family? Come explore Koobs Nature Area—a hidden 4.7-acre nature preserve right here in the heart of Carmichael!
During our monthly Public Open Days, families are invited to wander scenic trails through a peaceful riparian habitat, complete with three ponds, a connecting creek, and thriving spaces for birds, bats, and pollinators. Along the way, you’ll discover a self-guided plant tour with over 30 markers, a unique human sundial, and plenty of quiet corners to explore and enjoy.
Each Open Day also features hands-on, STEAM-based activities, crafts, and story time designed especially for kids. With a new theme each month, there’s always something fresh to discover—whether it’s owls, worms, dinosaurs, or the magic of the changing seasons.
